Built in 1731, the Daniel Rust House, originally known as the Bird In Hand, is on two acres of beautifully landscaped grounds that include perennial gardens and an old apple orchard. Guests are welcome to stroll among the grounds and witness the beauty of each season at their leisure.Our interior is as beautiful as our grounds, and you’ll find many quaint touches and lovely antiques that set the stage for a unique stay at our bed-and-breakfast inn.
The Bird In Hand was licensed as a tavern from 1800 to 1832. The original sign now hangs in the Connecticut Historical Society Museum in Hartford.
