PET POLICY
Your innkeepers at The Daniel Rust House are animal lovers and understand that sometimes you want or need to travel with your dog.
We will gladly accommodate canine family members but since we are not a doggie inn that accommodates humans, but rather, a B&B that welcomes well-behaved dogs, we request that any dogs that are fearful of or aggressive towards other animals and/or humans remain at home. We do have a fenced-in area where dogs will be able to mingle. If your dog is left in our care and is aggressive, you will be asked to leave, forfeiting charges for the remainder of your reservation.
Rates for canines: $10 added to room fee. Prior to departure, we inspect rooms and charges will be added if any damage has been done.
Additional Information Regarding Pet Stays
All pets must be spayed/neutered. A copy of spay certificate must be sent within seven working days after booking along with proof the dog has been inoculated for any communicable diseases.
Veterinarian-prescribed flea treatment (such as Advantix, Program, Frontline) is required for all dogs from March 1 to December 1. Between December 1 and March 1, flea treatment is required only if the season requires.
Due to the historic nature of the house, we request all pets' nails are clipped prior to coming to visit. If this is not possible, we can clip nails upon arrival. For well-behaved dogs, there will be no charge for this service. If the dog is extremely difficult or aggressive, there will be a $15 charge added to your room fee. We have 22 years or experience in the dog grooming field and will make that decision with the owner present.
Please bring enough of your pets' food to last your stay. We have refrigeration and storage, bowls, and beds and crates.
All pets must come leashed/harnessed or in a carrier.
Though the rules are many, we have to maintain safety for ALL our guests. We hope that including your canine family member, your stay with us will be fun and stress free.
